Victoria Shaw cofounded Morse Hill in 1999 with Jeff McQueen and is the Program Director. It was Outward Bound that originally sparked her love of the the outdoors and her own physicality. The spark lead her to teach all of the activities that are now part of Morse Hill along with swimming, balance and strength training, gymnastics, and skiing. She created Rattlesnake Adventure Camps for her 6 children. She uses her passion for experiential outdoor eduction to inspire people's personal growth and to celebrate their outdoor physicality. Nothing pleases her more than watching the "ah ha" moment that the natural world as teacher gives to people. She is a certified as a MA Health and Physical Education Teacher, Wilderness First Responder, PSIA Level II Ski Instructor, and First Aid, CPR, and Life Guard Instructor.
Jeff McQueen is the cofounder of Morse Hill Outdoor Center, Inc. and has been the Executive Director since 1999. He brings a lifetime of outdoor experience including Outward Bound, mountaineering, kayaking, rock climbing, biking, and a deep love of the woods. Although his preference is to be in the woods, he does get to use his MBA for the benefit of Morse Hill.
Tasmyn Green is the Assistant Program Director at Morse Hill. She was born and raised in South Africa where she first developed her love for the outdoors. In 1994 Tasmyn joined Victoria at Rattlesnake Adventure Camps and in 2000 became a member of the Morse Hill team. She holds a M.Ed. in Outdoor Education, a B.S. in Movement Science, Sports and Leisure Studies and is certified as a Massachusetts Health and Physical Education Teacher. She has additional certifications as a First Responder, CPR , First Aid, Life guarding Instructor and a AASI snowboard instructor. Tasmyn enjoys giving back to her community and is a volunteer Fire Fighter on the Sunderland Department and a member of the Northfield Dive Rescue Team.
Morse Hill uses a variety of other staff who are contracted for their specific skill specialties for individual ropes course and team building programs. Our Summer Camp Staff include Junior and Senior Counselors. Our Senior Counselors are over 21, are certified in First Aid, CPR, and Life guarding. Many of them are public school teachers . Junior Counselors must be 16 and are also certified in First Aid, CPR, and Life guarding. Most Junior Counselors have been campers and Counselors in Training (CIT’s) first.
